ROBOTICS & AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS

The control of complex robotics with multiple kinematics, control panel and communication can be distributed across multiple virtual machines very elegantly. That's why RTS hypervisor technology is one of the key technologies for this industry. Accordingly, it is also widespread here. Today, Industry 4.0 and IIoT connectivity is added to the list, along with the requirement to make situational awareness collaborative. The RTS Hypervisor is also predestined for these additional tasks.

Complex robotics logic with a central PLC and multi-axis drive controls communicating via real-time Ethernet can be divided into virtual machines very efficiently. Today, Industry 4.0 and IIoT connectivity is added to the list, along with the requirement to make situational awareness collaborative. The RTS Hypervisor is also predestined for these additional tasks.

Collaborative

robotics

To furnish robotics systems with situational awareness, parallel processes are required that can be synchronized very well via real-time capable virtual machines. Parallel processing units such as GPGPUs are ideal for parallel image processing, the processing of ultrasound and infrared waves, the utilization of deep learning algorithms, and much more.

The RTS Hypervisor

brings together what belongs together

The RTS Hypervisor is perfectly designed to harness the new parallel processing options of x86 and GPGPUs as it supports NUMA architectures and also scales across different computing devices such as CPUs and GPUs. It can further address PCIe graphics cards in privileged mode, i.e. in real time, without affecting the real-time behavior of the virtual machines for the controls.

New markets

Autonomous systems

Collaborative robotics is not far from autonomous systems, such as self-driving vehicles for intra-logistics. If you want to add satellite tracking, geographic information and real-time cellular G5 connectivity to round out the logic in other virtual machines, you can use one hardware for all tasks – even for autonomous utility vehicles in agriculture, quarries and mines.
